Rocky Mountain Surgical Center

What We Do

Excellent Outpatient Care

Rocky Mountain Surgical Center was established in 2003 by local physicians dedicated to providing world-class surgical care in a warm, friendly, and cost-efficient environment. As a Certified Member of the Accreditation Association of Ambulatory Health Care, we are dedicated to improving the lives of the patients we serve. We value excellence, integrity and professional conduct and will continue to offer the highest quality and affordable care.

More Surgeries Performed in Outpatient Centers

A number of surgical specialties have moved from the hospital operating room to the outpatient setting largely due to advances in surgery and anesthesia. Today, patients can undergo many different procedures in an outpatient surgery center such as total joints, chronic pain procedures or sports injuries.

For surgeries that are appropriate for an outpatient setting, the benefits to patients include:

Convenience

The convenience of recovering in your home generally makes recovery time quicker and more comfortable than an in-hospital stay.

Lower Cost

Since there are no hospital room and related hospital charges, costs are much lower for outpatient surgery. In fact, some insurance companies will cover certain surgical procedures only on an outpatient basis, unless your physician certifies that you require a more intensive level of post-operative care due to an underlying medical condition.

Reduced Stress

In the majority of cases, outpatient surgery is less stressful than inpatient surgery. Most people prefer to recover in the comfort of their own homes, especially children who are frightened by the thought of hospital sleepovers.

Accreditation

The Rocky Mountain Surgical Center is the only accredited surgical center or hospital in Gallatin County and the leading provider of outpatient surgical care. With state-of-the-art technology and techniques and a warm and positive environment, RMSC provides a cost-effective and caring place for healing. Specializing in orthopedics, pain medicine and podiatry, the professional staff and physicians are committed to delivering the highest level of service.

 Common Questions

Where are we located?

The physical address of the Rocky Mountain Surgical Center is 1450 Ellis Street (Corner of Highland Blvd. and Ellis Street). The surgery center is located approximately 3 blocks north of Main Street or 1 mile south of Kagy Blvd. just off of Highland Blvd. To the north of the center are the Bozeman softball fields. The surgery center is the lower level of a two story facility with the entrance under the northwest covered drive.

Who performs the anesthesia services at the center?

At this time Rocky Mountain Surgical Center does not utilize the services of Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs). We contract with only Board Certified Anesthesiologists to provide our anesthesia services.

Can I drive myself home?

Although the Rocky Mountain Surgical Center has implemented guidelines that safely allow patients to be discharged, on many occasions, the patient may still feel the effects of some of the medication received while in our care. It is because of those medications and other possible limitations including the restricted use of extremities post surgically that require all patients to have a responsible adult drive them home. Prior to going home, you will receive both written and verbal discharge instructions, and we ask that your ride listen to these instructions as well, as you may forget due to impaired memory from the medication you’ve received. If you do not have a ride home arranged, it is possible that your surgery or procedure may need to be rescheduled.
